Evangelical Church, Koševako brdo is in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina is led by pastor Slavko Hadzic and his wife Sanja. Across the country there are less than 1,000 evangelical (protestant) believers among a population of 3.5 million. Many of our citizens are Muslim (50%) nominal Orthodox (35%) and nominal Catholic (15%). Bosnia and Herzegovina still suffers consequences of the war which they had in 1990’s.
There are very few evangelical churches in the country. Koševsko brdo church is committed to building up existing believers and reaching out to non Christians for Christ. This is achieved through a variety of different ministries for believers; Sunday services, Sunday school, prayer meetings, Bible Study groups and also for nonbelievers; Street evangelism, Alpha courses, humanitarian work, concerts, puppet shows, children’s work and summer camps. As a small church it is sometimes challenging to run all those different activities. For example, last December we had around 700 people (non-Christians) coming through our small church building for different Christmas related activities.
