Albania Earthquake 2019

Latest report from our partner Artur in the small town of Poliçan, Albania.   11th December 2019

Dear friends.
Today I was with TEN partner, Erion in Poliçan to help the families affected by the earthquake. We found some families in very bad conditions and fearful. Their houses were damaged and now they live in tents. We gave them items of basic food,  clothes and Christmas gift boxes  to the children. The municipal office advised us that 21 families are in extreme need of support. We want to help these families during Christmas and the New Year with more bags of basic food items (£20), clothes and warm blankets (£12). We pray that through this mission we will be able to share the love and the hope of God with these people.

Transform Europe Network assists its local partners as they respond to critical needs when disasters occur such as the recent earthquake in Albania. Special funds are channelled directly to our trusted partners to enable them to purchase vital supplies in support of families made homeless and those who have suffered loss.

Your gift to TEN’s DISASTER RELIEF FUND will enable our partners to help families with food, water, hygiene, clothing and other essential needs.

Please note: We anticipate sending all received donations to our partners working with the people affected by current disasters, but should more finance be received than is required by our partners at this time TEN will hold the funds to meet any future needs linked to similar humanitarian crises that occur in the future.

Hundreds of families take refuge in the Durres football stadium as aftershocks rock the town.

Rescuers continue their search for survivors of the 6.4 earthquake that shook the coastal area of Albania.

The Assemblies of God church building in Durres, Albania was badly damaged in the earthquake.
