Almost all nations are experiencing Lockdown as efforts continue to ensure that all of us stay at home. Travel is severely restricted to essential visits to buy food, toiletries and medicines. Church buildings are locked and house visits are banned. TEN’s partners are increasingly using the internet to reach their church members with prayer and pastoral encouragement. UK team visits to Eastern Europe are all on hold, with flights restricted and some airports completely closed. Curfews are policed in many towns and cities.

Of particular concern is the loss of church income due to many people losing their jobs. This means that pastors face a shortfall in financial support that is vital to provide for their families. TEN will offer to help its partners in greatest need, however the Crisis Fund will need to be replenished. We recognise that many UK supporters also face uncertainty and potential loss of income, however we know that God is faithful to meet all these needs and not forget those who serve in the poorest parts of Europe.

Croatia earthquake 2020

On Sunday 22nd March 2020, a 5.3 magnitude earthquake rocked Zagreb, Croatia causing damage to scores of homes, almost 30 serious casualties and at least one loss of life. Newborn babies held by anxious mothers had to be evacuated from a maternity hospital. The added alarm was that the quake struck during a coronavirus lockdown.

TEN’s partners in Croatia are responding as best as they can…

Transform Europe Network assists its local partners as they respond to critical needs when disasters occur. Special funds are channelled directly to our trusted partners to enable them to purchase vital supplies in support of families made homeless and those who have suffered loss.

Your gift to TEN’s DISASTER RELIEF FUND will enable our partners to help families with food, water, hygiene, clothing and other essential needs.

Please note: We anticipate sending all received donations to our partners working with the people affected by current disasters. Should more finance be received than is required by our partners at the present time TEN will hold the funds to meet needs linked to similar humanitarian crises that occur in the future.

Very good, I was surprised when I moved from the UK to Europe and we started buying in wood logs to heat a home for our family. Its at least 3 days solid hard work (for an experienced chopper!) and after that there's all the stacking and drying to moving it around so it dries thoroughly, not to mention hauling in 10 or so logs a day. Lots of people have no alternative.

It really was hard work!
